Product Numbers/Codes
Paragon supports two types of Product references. The client must decide which they intend to use when the system is installed/set-up.
There is currently a system limit of 999 products, as the internal reference field has only three digits. This limit will be removed when the database is completely converted to MySQL. The limit will then be 4,294,967,295 (an unsigned integer of 4 bytes).
System Generated
Paragon automatically numbers the products starting at 1 and assigns the next available number as more are added.
User Defined
Product Codes can be manually entered by the user as products are added. The code must be unique and can be up to 5 alpha numeric digits in length.
