This facility is designed for larger operations that need to prevent order entry staff from booking unauthorised products to a customers order.
The original requirement was for West Country Milk, a dairy delivers to several customers on behalf of WCM but is only allowed to supply milk. The customer rings the dairy direct to place an order and sometimes can request none milk products which could easily be added to the order and then delivered without management knowing of the error.
Users who are not allowed to add products to Restricted accounts need to have the user permission “Add Prods to Custs with Restricted List” turned off. The easiest way to do this is turn this off for your Default (standard) group and leave it on for Super Users.
Customers who have a Restricted List should have the products allowed to order on their Standing Order, and also be added to a Subset with the name “Restricted product list”.
